Vintage Children's Swimsuits

Aren't these adorable?

They bring back memories of when my 3 brothers and I took swim lessons at Lincoln Park.

They would advance you to the next level with a different colored bottom.

You started in green "pants" until you could tread water for several minutes.

Once you could swim 3/4 of a lap without taking a breath you got red "pants".

 

The amazing thing was back then all the girls and boys only wore the colored bottoms.

  

Even though I was "topless" I was so shy when it came to undressing in the pool house changing room.

As a very young girl I would just stand there with my towel wrapped around me until everyone left before I'd dry off and get dressed.

Always the last one to emerge.

Alas, the innocence of my childhood.

Such sweet memories...

 I think these wonderful vintage swimsuits would be great framed and hung in a child's room, beach house, or pool house!
