I found this piece while thrifting in Palm Springs with Eddie & Jaithan a couple of years ago.
I believe it is meant to be mounted on the ceiling above a bed which is common practice in France.
Fabric is attached to the hooks and then allowed to fall and cascade upon the headboard below.
They are called ceiling canopies or bed crowns.
This one is quite unique.
It is made of gold toned metal which has developed a pleasing patina.
It measures approx. 8" in diameter and is 8" high.
This treasure truly is one of a kind!
